The Japanese words Rei” and “Ki” can be translated as a "miraculous and sacred energy of the universe which sustains all life".

Reiki is a Japanese technique that may be used for stress reduction, relaxation and healing. Reiki directs the energy to restoring depleted energy levels, clearing negative energy channels and restoring balance.  Reiki energy revitalises and refreshes the mind, body and soul

Reiki is one of the oldest forms of natural healing. Although both powerful and effective, it is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on form of healing which benefits both giver and receiver. As the channel for the Reiki energy, the Reiki Practitioner receives the energy initially and it is then channeled to the recipient through the Practitioner's hands. This is achieved by placing the hands either upon or just above the client's body. Sensations such as heat, cold and tingling may be felt while the session is in progress together with a deep feeling of relaxtion, peace and calm. Many clients drift off into a peaceful sleep.

Reiki is performed on fully clothed clients and can be done anywhere, anytime. Reiki sessions are generally done with the client lying on a massage table but may also be done in a sitting position or even standing up.

Duration of a healing session is approximately 1 hour. Reiki healing may be given either in person or via distance. Distance does not interfere with the sending of Reiki energy, even to the other side of the world. However Distance Reiki is not sent without the prior permission of the person to whom the energy is being sent.

Reiki treatments compliment all forms of treatment or therapy, both traditional and holistic. It is now becoming widely recognised by the worldwide Medical fraternity as an effective and complimentary therapy to be used in conjunction with traditional practices.

Reiki can help to heal every kind of physical problem.  It can also help us to cope during times of upheaval and change and the resulting rise in stress levels these bring. The very things that impact on  each of us every day of our lives.

Some people enjoy Reiki simply as a relaxing way to recharge their batteries and/or boost their energy levels. While others look to Reiki for improving their general health and well-being. Whatever the reason, regular Reiki sessions deliver results.

Where some may take several Reiki healings before they feel relief from their symptoms, others receive an instantaneous sense of healing, relaxation and/or reduced stress levels. In some cases all three are felt from the one session. As with any healing process some take longer than others for it to work. Everyone's reaction is different, just as some medications benefit some but not others.

As with any treatment, you need to be proactive in your own healing process. Some people have one session with Reiki and because they haven't received instant relief, they don't return for further sessions. If we have spent time and money on traditional medicine without seeing the results we wanted, then why should we expect to get that level of relief from just one Reiki session.

Reiki is not a medical procedure, it is purely an exchange of energy between the client and the Reiki Practitioner.

A Reiki Practioner does not diagnose or give advice on medical matters.  If a client asks advice on a medical matter the response will always be that they should discuss their concerns with their Medical Practitioner.
